1. Ovidiu Moceanu Problema postumelor eminesciene
Abstract: On Eminescu's posthumous works

The study examines a very important issue regarding the publication of Eminescu's work, i.e. whether Eminescu's posthumous works can be taken into account when assessing his work. The issue of the works posthumously published used to attract many critical spirits during the first decades after Mihai Eminescu's death.
The issue of Eminescu's posthumous works was first raised by Garabet Ibrăileanu. Eminescu's posthumous work, his study from 1908, represented a reaction to the publication of some posthumous works in magazines or of certain editions of his work. The critic considered that there was no good reason for the publication of the manuscripts in editions of wide use, since this would impede the poet's image as established in the public consciousness by the anthumous works. This would only be useful for literary researchers, he argued. It would be unfair to change the image of "true Eminescu", the one from Maiorescu's edition. "Eminescu is not and cannot be other than what he himself wanted to be", believed Ibraileanu.
At the other side of the spectrum there are a number of prestigious literary critics and historians (T. Vianu, G. Calinescu, etc.) who consider the posthumous works just as important as those published during the poet's life, naturally integrating them in their critical discourse.

2. Leonte Ivanov "De când cu ruşii în țară..." sau despre persistența unei fobii
Abstract: "Ever since Russians have come in our country..." or about the persistence of a phobia

The study is based on the evidence that, despite the fact that they have been initiated within the highly generous context of the marriage between Stephen the Great's daugher, Olena, and the heir of the Ivan the IIIrd, the relations between Romanians and Russians have not been quite the most cordial ones. The author realizes an imagological study regarding the image of Russia and, subsequently, of the Russian people in the imaginary of the Romanian intellectuals from the 18th and the 19th century, using as study material their chronicles or, when neccesary, their letters.

3. Lucian Robu Declarația PMR din aprilie 1964 şi poziția intelectualității din RPR
Abstract: 1964 April Declaration and the official position of Romanian intellectuals

The main issue of our study deals with the difficult problem of Romanian political and public reaction to the repeated Soviet aggressions. That kind of political attacks intended to transform Romanian economy into an agrarian zone, annihilating any Romanian directions and intentions of industrial development. The main act in this regard was the so-called Valev Plan, a complex and political document wich has generated immediate reactions from the Communist politicians and the Romanian engaged intellectuals.

4. Rodica Deaconescu Aspecte ale relațiilor româno-americane până în anul 1965
Abstract: Aspects regarding the Romanian-American relations until 1965

The present article aims at revealing some aspects of the Romanian-American relations during the inter-war years, the second World War and the first post-war years, up to the moment when the diplomatic relations between the two countries had been revived, to the opening of the Romanian Legation in Washington and the signing of the Paris Peace Treaties (1947). It is also presented the USA position towards Romania during the inter-war years and the main cause of the reduced political and economic relations between the two countries, as well as the discontents launched by the Jewish people concerning the policy of restriction and conditioning of the the Jewish population policy developed by the governments from Bucharest. Further more, the relations during the second World War are also depicted, when the two countries fought in enemy camps. Is revealed the USA position towards the quality of Romania as an occupied country, by the Allied powers, respectively by USSR and the participation of the USA diplomats at the signing of the Paris Armistice between Romania and the Allied powers in 1947.

5. Irina Ciobotaru Nicolae Steinhardt - o evoluție spirituală marcată de repere superioare: Constantin Noica
Abstract: Nicolae Steinhardt - an Evolution Marked by High Spiritual Landmarks: Constantin Noica

Nicolae Steinhardt (1912-1989) is a notorious name of Romanian culture, having a remarkable posthumous recognition. The source of this recognition is an exceptional biographical and literary evolution which, immediately after the fall of communism, was recovered and was understood by his posterity as an ethic landmark. N. Steinhardt's biographic and spiritual evolution is definitely marked by the paradox of a dynamic position regarding the intellectuals of his generation. The young conservatory Jewish N. Steinhardt writes against the enthusiastic group of "Criterion", and also against the socialists from "Șantier". The political evolution in Romania after the World War II conducts to N. Steinhardt's incarceration in a "mystic and legionary" group, and to his baptism in exceptional conditions. The young conservatory, who wrote biting parodies against the intellectuals from "Criterion", is determined by post-war history to become their close and honest friend, as a response to their similar admittance of the errors manifested in their youth.

6. Ovidiu Baron Hypostases du gouffre chez Michaux, Fondane et Voronca
Abstract: Hypostases of the abyss at Michaux, Fondane, and Voronca

The main interest of the present study regards the manner of structuring the lyrical ego within the core of the poem as a momentary occurrence, being thus directly related to the structuring of the poetic image. At Henri Michaux, for example, by examining the dramatic drug-related experiences one may discover an experimenter on his very own ego, and the images that define these experiments are structurally related to the increase of a particular feeling or repetition of a movement that renders a peculiar feeling more precise. At Ilarie Voronca and Benjamin Fondane, on the other hand, the lyrical ego is not defined in relation with the personal ego, but rather in connection with society or history and their oscillations.

7. Mihai Vieru Generația '80 între Textualism şi Postmodernism
Abstract: Generation '80 between Textualism and Postmodernism

The ideological debates of the last two decades have proposed two main manners of approaching and situating the literature of the Generation '80: on the one hand, it was read and understood, by critics like Marin Mincu, as an autochtonous realization of the textualist desiderata; on the other hand, the main representatives of the generation (and first of all Mircea Cărtărescu) saw themselves as the first post-modernist generation of the Romanian literature (with the important exception of Alexandru Mușina, who has firmly delimitated himself from post-modernism and designed a new concept and a new ideology: that of anthropocentrism).

8. Loredana Opăriuc Caravana epică a lui Ioan Groşan - literatură pentru filologi
Abstract: The epical caravan of Ioan Groșan - Literature for philologists

Ioan Groșan is a main reprezentative of Romanian postmodernist fiction, whose works cover a variety of styles. The distinguishing features of his writings are the intertextual dialogue, the parodic re-creation of former literature, the intelligent play on words and the healthy Balcanic humour. The social system, the stupid ideologies, the clichées and prejudices are satirized in original manners, his characters fighting intelligently to become free, experiencing picaresque adventures and ending mostly like anti-heroes. There is also a psychological approach in some of his stories, the lyrical realism and the intertextual threads building an unique fictional world.
The silent war between imagination and reality is won, by far, by the first one.

9. Dragoş Varga Mario Vargas Llosa. în căutarea naratorului perfect
Abstract: Mario Vargas Llosa. In Search Of The Perfect Narrator

A representative figure of the South-American literature, Mario Vargas Llosa is at the same time one of the most involved writers in his country's social life, involvement that resulted in the episode of his candidacy at the beginning of the '90s to the presidency of Peru. This status, though honorable for the political man, was quite uncomfortable to the writer, who was more than incriminated because of his novels' topics; therefore, the quality of his fictional works was often ignored by his opponents, who read his works by means of inadequate biographical criteria, considering them thus as expressions of moral degradation and deflective behavior, inappropriate for a future possible president. This is also the case of the novel Pantaleón y las visitadoras (Captain Pantoja and the Special Service), which is relevant for the peculation of aims and functions of literature, as far as the novel is not only a fresco of the Peruvian society or of the Peruvian Army, but also a discovery of the humour and the exploration of several types of narrative discourse.

Abstract: Brian McHale - "Postmodernist fiction"

The article consists of an introduction to Postmodernist Fiction by Brian McHale and a translation of "Chapter 5: A world next door" from the same book. The introduction attempts on displaying the most significant information with regard to Brian McHale's biography and work, and includes a general presentation of the book, its focus and main issues, i. e. the epistemological vs. the ontological dominant in fiction. The chapter translated (the Romanian version of the book is forthcoming this year, at Polirom Publishers) describes one of the possible fictional worlds, with an emphasis on the fantastic and the way it has been employed in the works of postmodernist writers.

12. Lucian Bâgiu Writing in Deconstruction vs Speech in Structuralism (Jacques Derrida vs Ferdinand de Saussure)
Abstract: Writing in Deconstruction vs Speech in Structuralism (Jacques Derrida vs Ferdinand de Saussure)

Speech is already in itself a writing. Any concept that is to name, to stay for the abstract or concrete reality is made up of a mental trace. There is always a sleepy-waiting yet ever present trace at the origin of the representation and the naming of any ontological phenomenon. The trace is itself The apriori ontology - and this is how writing is pre-eminent to the later formal verbalization of any already traced concept of any abstract or concrete phenomenon of reality. The trace is the very possibility of the existence. The whole reality is originally "written", then existing and finally spoken.

13. Lucia Nistor Germanisches und christliches Winterfest. "Jul" und "Weihnachten" - Versuch eines Vergleichs
Abstract: The Germanic and Christian winter holidays. Jul and Christmas - the attempt of a comparison

When coming to traditions, the period before and after the winter solstice is the most complex and varied in the year, as there you can find many elements of the religious syncretism.
Both the most important holiday of the Germanic peoples, Jul, as well as the Christian Christmas holiday are filled with moments of light and peace and they last for a few days. Jul also used to be a holiday for the celebration of the ancestors and of fertility. Both holidays are held around the winter solstice, having as the central element the sun, as a symbol of the triumph of light and truth over darkness. Jul and Christmas are holidays for the family to get together and they are governed by hospitality and respect for the others. The pre-Christian main elements that have been preserved in Christmas are: the stub and the green branches brought into the house - replaced by the Christmas tree, the bread and the Christmas light, Santa Clause who took the Christmas elf's place and the sacrificed animal. In Scandinavia, as well as in Pomerania (the German Pommern) and Mecklenburg, Christmas is still called Jul.

14. Raluca Mureşan Jurnalismul informativ: principii deontologice
Abstract: Informative journalism. Deontological principles

The practice of a responsible journalism includes three main areas: moral, legal and professional deontology. These areas overlap to some extent, interfere and validate each other. Professional deontology sets rules of conduct beyond the law. It submits journalism to public control. A professional journalist should pursue his or her duties within a range of strictly delimitated ethical values. Therefore, the journalist deontology may and actually must be regarded as a permanent negotiation between the needs and the rights of the public, on the one hand, and the traditional, yet reformable, set of journalistic rules and principles, on the other hand.
