Topocronia cărților populare: heraldica iubirii. Literatura de desfătare. Arhitecturile exemplare și compensatorii |
| Abstract: |
The topochrony of books from the folk: the heraldry of love
Answering a sui-generis human imperative, that of living, simultaneously, inside the story, the myth and the exemplary legend, but also answering the compensatory necessity that gives solutions (through the imagined symbolic architectures) for improving the disappointing and dramatic quotidian - popular books can also be read as an interpretation of the reality, with all that it brings from the immediate or from an archetypal background, feeding the imaginary which in this way is sapientially, morally and aesthetically shaped. On the other hand, popular books offer models of human edification, of initiation in the knowledge of the world and of the self, which, sometimes, encrypts ontological solutions. One of these solutions is - at the end of the Romanian 18th century characterized by the changes in mentality and in the field of the ontological reference points - love. Retrieving the influences of the curtois novel, with the entire ritual of love, popular books such as The history of Erotocrit and Aretusa, The history of Filerot and Anthusa are now changing the spacio-temporal marks of the exterior world according to the inner world of the protagonists. In this way, books like the ones we referred to add a new fundamental value besides faith, wisdom and bravery: feeling. |

Zoe Dumitrescu Bușulenga: Despre Eminescu în orizonturile romantismului german |
| Abstract: |
Zoe Dumitrescu-Bușulenga: The attractiveness of comparatism.
Eminescu in the horizon of the germanic romanticism
This paper is intended to be "a critique of the critique" applied to Zoe Dumitrescu-Bușulenga's study Eminescu și romantismul german (Eminescu and the Germanic Romanticism). I was interested in the way in which the critique uses the concept of comparatism, therefore, I could easily notice that for Zoe Dumitrescu-Bușulenga, the concept of comparatism is invested with a particular definition and a special practicability. For Zoe Dumitrescu-Bușulenga, the comparatism, as an exegetics procedure of working, has the understanding of the French term that herself confers to it "discipline de coronnement" (discipline of crowning). That is why, I truly believe that the exegetics that the critique undertakes is based on a orientation of the study, doubtless, "towards concept", this paper is a suitable demonstration of the pertinet theory sustained by Ioana Bot who makes well-known the major problem of the "eminescology": "the majority of the studies, regarding Eminescu, are, most of the time, "author-oriented", instead of being "problem-oriented" or better said, "concept-oriented." The studies "author-oriented" tell us what we already know, the fact that Eminescu is a great poet." But starting from the premise that this "eminescologic" study is mirrored in the Germanic romanticism as a manner of exploring the comparatist sources, I tried to organise this universe of influence with the help of "three concentric circles." Nevertheless, taking into consideration that the comparative method is for Zoe Dumitrescu-Bușulenga one "sans rivages" (without borders), my intentions were of the best: I focused on the way in which Eminescu really borrows romantic motives, themes, elements from the Romantic writers, but always this borrowing is, finally, filtrated through his own vision about world and himself, the result -the mirroring in the Germanic romanticism- being an amazing proceeding of how Eminescu analyses and transforms some known "topoi" into new meanings, offering its new perspectives, functions and symbolical representations. In one word, the construction of his own mito-poetic universe, knowing that Eminescu does feel constantly connected to the the (romantic) spirit of the century. |

Un Cioran pesimist și optimist. Preferințele sale filosofice |
| Abstract: |
Cioran's Pessimistic and Optimistic Views. His Philosophical Preferences
Cioran is considered to be a representative of the Romanian existentialism, known as experientialism or trairism, with Christian and mystic connotations, taken over from Nae Ionescu. Existentialism matches with liberalism, due to the supremacy given both to the individual and to the individual freedom. The assumption of these prerogatives forms the foundation of experientialism. The trairism represents the Romanian formula and it is cultivated by the domestic political philosophy of the between war generation educated by Nae Ionescu, but it also absorbs a lot from the main points of the individual-based philosophy: Camus, Schopenhauer, Shestov, Nietzsche. In this article, we shall stop at the philosophical preferences of Cioran, those which meant a lot for his further evolution as a thinker. It is about an analysis of what Cioran took over from his preferred philosophers, of certain recurrent themes, of pessimistic and optimistic views in the writing of Cioran; of key importance are the influences of Spengler and Keyserling, especially Spengler, who educated Cioran's taste for nationalism. |

Dobrogea în perioada migrațiilor pecenege (sec. al XI-lea) |
| Abstract: |
Dobroudja During Petchenegian Invasion (XI-th Century)
Conquers made by the emperors Nichifor Focas (963- 969), Ioan Tzimiskes (969-976) and Vasile al II-lea (976-1025), looked like they are going to bring along period of peace and prosperity but, afert the death of Vasily the Second starts a new period of decline in the Byzantine Empire. During this period in the Orient, the place of the Arabs is taken by the Selgiucidian Turks, while in the West Normans are starting to reach out. In the Balcanians and at Southern Danube, after the Bulgarians and the Russians, the populations from the steps appear (Petchenegians, Udians and Cumans) which will be a continuous threat during the XI-th century. During repeated invasions (especially Petchenegian) numerous sites from Dobroudja were affected or permanently distroyes and in the teritory at the southern Danube a great crisis is installed, crisis at which the Byzantine Empire was almost unable to react. |

The personal post-pasoptist Library of Andrei Șaguna
Documentary signal
Using the occasion of the commemoration of 200 years since the birth of the Metropolitan bishop Andrei Șaguna, we are using the opportunity to signalize certain facts about the personal library of Andrei Șaguna, one of the most important among those which ever belonged to a Romanian inhabitant of Sibiu. For such a study we evoke the 2 catalogues of the library from 1862 and 1873, as well as the existing volumes from the actual library of the Transylvanian Metropolitan seat |

Bizanțul și pericolul normand în secolele al XI-lea și al XII-lea |
| Abstract: |
Byzantium and the Norman threat in the 11th and 12th centuries
This essay wants to present how the relations between the Byzantine empire and the Normans degenerated into bloody wars in the 11-th and 12-th centuries. From mercenaries hired by the Byzantine emperor, the Normans became with the passing of time the most dangerous and terrifying army that attacked the Eastern empire teritories in the 11-th. and12-th centuries.
We can definetly say that the Normans were the forerunners of the antibyzantinic attitudes in Western Europe. The military actions of the Russian Normans as those of their cousins from southern part of Italy showed to the Western world the internal weakness of the Byzantine world. The clergymen from southern Italy were the first scholars who began the mental preparations of the Western world for the future attacks over the Byzantine empire. William from Apulia and Amatus de Monte Cassino underline for example the cowardness, treachery, duplicity, weakness and corruption of the Byzantines. |

In the collections of manuscript books from "Astra" Library - Sibiu we can find the integral copy of the Romanian text from Dimitrie Cantemir philosophical work "Divanul sau gâlceava înțeleptului cu lumea sau giudețul sufletului cu trupul" [The Divan or the Argument of the Wise Man with the World or the Judgement of the Soul with the Body], printed in Iasi in the 30-th of August 1698. The author of this first copy - dated 1703 - is the priest Ioan from Ocna Sibiului who, settled in Wallachia at Constantin Brâncoveanu's Court, brought money to rebuild the church but the earliest printings as well. Inspired by the moralizing contents of the Divan, priest Ioan turns its copy into a spring of knowledge for generations of Romanians from Transylvania. |

Considerații generale asupra securității frontierei central-sudice a Transilvaniei (secolele XII-XVI) |
| Abstract: |
General considerations about the security of the medieval frontier
in the south of Transylvania (13th - 16th century)
he southern part of Transylvania, a mountain region, belonged to the Hungarian kingdom. In the central part is The Olt Valley that links the Danube region and the inner side of the Carpathian Mountain. Some rivers spring under the ridge of the mountain and are collected from the main rivers Olt and Mures. The rivers were in the Middle Age the way of communications. The path over the mountains and the little rivers were used from shepherds, smugglers, thieves. The most dangerous were the gangs of akângii (a Turkish origin). They plundered the villages and took in slavery the people.
In the frontier region were stone wall fortifications with irregular plan and places fortified with ramparts. The ramparts blocked up the access of the enemies. Both categories of fortifications were built on the top of the hills. Also the stone wall fortifications from Turnul Roșu-Boița, Tunul Spart had to block the access in the Olt Valley, the main entrance in Transylvania, and protect the custom house. In the modern time, the guardsmen lived in so called wachthaus, a modest building on that routs in the mountain. |

Poziția Federației Ruse cu privire la procesul de aderare a României la NATO în anii '90. Studiu de caz: Revista "22", 1997 |
| Abstract: |
The position of Russian Federation regarding the Romanian adhesion process to NATO in the 90s
In this comunication I tried to punctuate some opinies which referes to the position adopted by Russian Federation regarded the integration of Romania to NATO, affirmed in "22" magazine, in the first part of 1997. I tried in special to surprize a few opiniens in the deployment of the process in euro - atlantic adhesion, and also some impressions regarded the negotiatons between the state from NATO and Russian Federation about the process to extend the Nord - Atlantic Alliance to Est Europe, studying the articoles from "22" on this theme. I consider that for this articoles publicated in "22", the magazine has been one of the must important political magazine in the romanian press, the comentaries and the realist analyses of this theme are very numerous. I observed that in the articoles from "22", some authors insists on the causes which determined the delay of the integration process of Romania to NATO. |
